Formed in Broken Hill in 2011,
Saltbush has one driving desire...

Saltbush's motto which guides all its activities, is to connect with God, grow in Christ, love each other and serve Broken Hill and beyond. We desire to build up the Christian church by presenting God's word the Bible, to God's world.

Our meetings

Saltbush's main meeting is on Sunday afternoons at 4pm. We meet at the Broken Hill Centre for Community (the building with a mural wall that backs onto Sturt Park).

Street parking is available on Beryl Street, and access to the centre is via the driveway at the far left hand end of the building. There will be signs out to help you.

What to expect

Because we don't want you to be nervous about visiting!

When you arrive, someone will say "Hi" at the door. We'll sing a few songs, then grab a cuppa while the kids go out to their kids groups. We'll read a passage from the Bible, then hear a talk on what we've just read (20-30 minutes). Someone will also pray on behalf of the group.

Please feel free to join in or simply listen - there will be no pressure to sing, pray or read out loud. But we'd love to chat after the meeting, to get to know you better!

During the week

Our church is not only a Sunday meeting - but a community.

During the week are a number of other opportunites to meet together. We run one daytime home group and various evening groups to study the bible together. There is also a Year 6-9 youth group that runs every second Friday during term time. There are also regular formal & informal social gatherings.

Please keep an eye out on the upcoming events listed below to find out what is coming up at Saltbush.

    • Christianity Explored

Due to Covid we currently have no upcome dates for this course.

Christianity Explored is an informal 7-week course for people who'd like to investigate Christianity, or just brush up on the basics. Looking at Mark's gospel, it explores who Jesus is, why he came, and what it means to follow him.
